Check out the Social Media Sobriety Test which lets you lock yourself out of certain websites for the hours you know you’ll be a bit...unstable. The only way you can post during those hours is if you pass a sobriety test like typing the alphabet backwards!

WHAT IS IT: Six years after Earth has its first encounter with aliens an “infected zone” is set up between Mexico and the US border where all the monster/aliens have been contained (we’re not talking cute ET-style aliens here, it’s more like an octopus sitting on a giant spider).

The story’s about two people who have to journey through this infected zone if they want to make it back home.

WHO'S IN IT: No one famous but Scott McNairy and Whitney Able are exceptionally good in their roles.

RELEASE DATE: Friday, November 10

THE GOOD:
• This is NOT an “alien movie.” It’s about two strangers banding together to attempt the impossible.
• It’s probably the only movie you’ll ever see with an Octopus-Alien love scene (btw HOT!)

THE BAD:
• It’s definitely one of those movies where the first 5 minutes turns out to be crucial to your overall enjoyment and understanding. So put away the cell phone and pay attention!

THE VERDICT:
This movie has all the ingredients to be a failure: no-name cast, low budget, and you don’t even get to wear those super-cool 3D glasses. However, this is a surprisingly good adventure story about two people who are determined to get home no matter what it takes. It’s sort of like Homeward Bound, but instead of Chance and Sassy there’s 100-foot aliens.

What is it: A re-boot of the classic N64 shooter game, Goldeneye, for the Nintendo Wii.

When’s it come out: November 2nd, 2010.

Who’s in it: Daniel Craig is James Bond, Judy Dench is M, and because no Bond installment would be complete without an evil-but-hot temptress, Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussycat Dolls sings the theme.

The Good:
• It’s all the familiar levels from the N64 game loaded with new challenges for the Wii.

• There are WAY more things that blow up when you shoot them now.

• The N64 version was legendary because of the multi-player mode and they haven’t forgotten this with the new version. Head to the archives, grab a rocket launcher and blow your best friend to smithereens! It’s the same multi-player fun you wasted hours on in the good old days, except you’re (hopefully) not in your parent’s basement anymore! Also you can compete with friends and gamers around the world with a wi-fi connection.

The Bad:
• The “Wiimote” has a bad habit of not aiming properly at the worst possible times.

• Long cut-scenes to sit through that you can’t skip over.

• The Deluxe Edition of the game comes bundled with a golden version of the Wii Classic Controller. While it’s awesome for virtual console games on the Wii, it makes aiming awkward in Goldeneye. Stick with the Wiimote/Nunchuk combo.

The Verdict: Say goodbye to your friends and loved ones! Once you start into the new Goldeneye they won’t be seeing a whole lot of you for the next couple weeks.

Forget about the creepy piano music in the exorcist movies…SAXOPHONE is the new sound of terror, at least in Windsor Park anyway.

So, ever since I moved into my house 6 years ago, my friends have joked it’s haunted. No real reason for it, they just say there are ghosts living there. I never believed it until 3 years ago when a ghost decided to have a jam session in my basement.

I was on the phone talking to my girlfriend when I heard very faint saxophone music in the background. I thought it was on her end of the line but after it started getting louder and louder I realized it was coming from MY basement!

Like the “extremely-hot-but-stupid-girl” in a horror movie I decided to investigate the noise. Classic.

I figured I’d left my computer on, so I walked down the blood-red shag-carpeted stairs to my basement to turn it off, but as soon as I stepped on the first creaking stair the music instantly stopped.

I looked all over the basement for a good five minutes and couldn’t figure out where the noise was coming from. As a joke I grabbed my guitar and said “Okay, ghost! You wanna jam? Let’s do it!”

I got about two bars into a little blues riff when all of a sudden THE MUSIC STARTED AGAIN!

Naturally, like the brave and courageous person I am, I immediately ran back upstairs, slammed the basement door shut, turned on every light in the house, and hid in my bed until morning.

Gotta say that fall is my second favourite season…except for all the clean up, mind u I don’t have a yard to look after sooo its not too bad. But if you have tons of trees in your yard u gotta clean up those leaves, the city is opening numerous Leaf and Yard Waste depots throughout Winnipeg. They’ll be open seven days a week, running not till November 15th.

The guy who directed Fubar II is directing this one as well.

The movie needs guys between 18 to 40 with hockey experience at River Heights Community Centre today from noon to 2 p.m.

Each hockey player is required to be there for approximately one hour and bring full gear.

It is a paid position. Potential extras do not have to be pro but they do need to know hockey basics.

R.I.P. Rich Cronin

At the age of 35, we've lost one of the...in my opinion...cutest faces in pop music, Rich Cronin. The LFO singer was diagnosed with Leukemia a few years back and was in remission until passing away from a stroke yesterday afternoon.

These places aren't really the surprising, but just how gross they are...is:

1 - PUBLIC MAGAZINES: Those in waiting rooms, on airplanes and at libraries get passed around through tons of people's unwashed hands. Since they've got dry surfaces, bacteria like E. coli can survive on them for months.

2 - OFFICE KEYBOARDS: Your keyboard generally has about five times more germs than a public toilet set since the little gaps between the keys are the perfect place for bacteria to live and grow.

3 - THE GYM: A study found bacteria that could cause the cold virus on 73% of weights and 51% of aerobic equipment at the gym.

4 - SHOPPING CARTS: A study found that two out of every three shopping cart handles were contaminated with fecal.bacteria...all more the reason to send someone else to pick up dinner?

5 - SUBWAY POLES: Basically, any surface you touch on public transportation is completely covered in germs and bacteria. Of all the things on this list, these are the MOST infected surfaces of all.

Now go wash you hands...eight times.
