Calling All Intelligent Singles!

Lavalife, plentyoffish and eHarmony are just few websites that make up a good chunk of the dating world nowadays. One thing you’ll notice if you’ve ever been to the sites or you can just assume this is true...there are always profile pictures.

They're mostly a requirement on those anyways along with the fact that whether we admit it or not, looks matter.

Some folks are now trying as hard as they can to erase that somewhat shallow fact by starting up intelligentpeople.com. It's a brand new online dating and networking community exclusively for, you likely guessed it, intelligent people.

So how do they determine who’s alowd to become a member? Just trust that they got good grades?

Not so much! You actually have to take an IQ test in order to join the other smartie pants.

So I thought 'what the heck, I’m pretty smart! I’ll try it out!'

Went to the site...did the whole sign up to be tested process...got through 7 of the 18 which image is missing from the equation challenges...and then quit as I actually started to feel panicked by the harder ones, as in I actually had to take deep, calming breaths.

Tried again a few minutes later with a friend in tow...got through the whole thing which was guessed at for the most part, only to get the following message:

Sorry, you did not pass the IntelligentPeople.com IQ test.
If this was your first attempt, you have the opportunity to sign up again and have one more attempt to become a member.
You cannot take the IQ test more than twice.
Thank you for your interest.

You’re...welcome?

And thank YOU for further proving to me that I’d much rather find me a pretty man than someone who can match pictures well.

They should have SOME brains, but being a part of intelligentpeople.com...not a requirement.

Brutus: Bear Best Man

For some people choosing a best man or maid of honour can get a bit tough! Between family, best friends, your significant OTHERS loved ones…so many choices.

For Casey Anderson from Bozeman, Montana, though, not so much.

Few years back he rescued a grizzly bear cub named Brutus from a wildlife preserve. In order to take care of him, Casey built his OWN wildlife sanctuary, raised Brutus from a cub to the 800 pound grizzly he is today.

Clearly the two became close through the years, so there was no question about it when it came to Casey choosing who he wanted standing next to him on his big day.

Haven’t guessed it by now, it was Brutus!

Can only IMAGINE the bachelor party…little lady bears strutting around, serving the fellas drinks...

All joking aside, wouldn’t you feel a bit odd if your fiancĂ©e chose an animal as his support for your wedding? Likely, but Casey’s lady love actress Missi Pyle seemingly had no problem with it as far as the wedding photos show:

They look a TOUCH photoshopped, but then again, anything's possible now adays.

Breaking news! Saved By The Bell Cast To Reunite!...

...well almost as long as one Jimmy Fallon is involved!

He’s been on this kick for that last couple weeks one getting the high school cast back together just in time for the 20th anniversary of the show. Not to film an episode, which is very good news considering how the College Years just about ruined my memories of the original show. But hoping to actually get them on HIS show.

So far so good with Mr. Belding, AC Slater and Lisa Turtle on board. This being by choice, but also by influence of a petition Jimmy’s started getting as many fans as possible to sign. So far, 24,624, including my own, looking pretty good, but could be better with YOUR help.

Click here to sign the petition and check out the video below to see just how hard Jimmy is trying to make it happen!

Even if you don’t like the show, could literally care less or are just plain creeped out by Dustin Diamond aka Screech in recent times, do it all for us die hards.

Thank you in advance.

Fried Chicken Freak Out!

Proof that Americans are sliiightly more obnoxious than Canadians has now arrived!

Not to categorize all Americans together, more a group of them just below us in Minneapolis who went gaga over fried chicken recently. Basically Popeyes and Biscuits started a national ad campaign in honour of Earth Day offering a one-day deal of 8 pieces of chicken for $4.99.

NO idea how that connects to us saving the planet…but continuing on…

The Popeyes down in Minneapolis decides, ya know what, we don’t like this deal, we’re going to start our own offering 9 pieces of chicken for $9.99.

Anyone can see…that’s not even close to as good of a deal as the other, so you can just imagine how the customers reacted when they found out they were missing out on the $8.99 deal!!

Imagine no longer, and check out the video proof of a near brawl:

We’ve got us some PASSIONATE chicken fans…

Random Collaborations presents: Kanye, Brandon and Jared?

Kanye West's collaborations, as we have heard many a time, all end up to be fantastic tunes. And that’s what I’m hoping for one he’s actually working on now most recently hanging out with Killers frontman Brandon Flowers and 30 Seconds to Mars frontman Jared Leto.

The randomness begins with that photo and will continue as it has been confirmed that Kanye has been working on a new track for Jared’s band. Should be interesting if nothing else.

Baby Got (Square) Back!

Will fully admit, I do dig on Sir Mix a Lot’s Baby got back once in a while, but I also know it has it’s place.

Can’t think of it at the moment, but I do know it’s not necessarily in ads. Pretty blunt lyrics as you likely know…those being taken and turned into the latest ad for Burger King.

Should foreshadow all this with the fact that it’s all done very creatively and seemingly aimed at kids considering it features Sponge Bob Squarepants...check it out:

As mentioned, it looks like it’s aimed at kids right? But the creators insist it is for adults despite the cartoon oh and the fact that it’s being mainly aired on Nickolodeon.

Your thoughts?

Are people, as they often do, overreacting to a commercial meant for adults?

Or is the reaction pretty expected?

Introducing the Hamburger Grease Painter!

I’ve heard of artists drawing with all sorts of things out of the norm...Tree branches, mud, human items in very strange cases. But never hamburger grease!

That is until I stumbled upon the hamburger grease painter! He literally paints with hamburger patties, though not just simple pictures.

He takes on and concurs the Mona Lisa!

Both fascinating and slightly cringeworthy at the same time, check out the video below:

Government seeks public input for new car-buying rules!

When I see a headline like the one above, I automatically picture a panel of people picking out colours of cars. Call me shallow, but there are some UGLY colours driving around this city.

Unfortunately, not so much connected to that at all, but very fortunately, is connected to the Government letting you feel just a touch more powerful by asking how, when and most importantly WHAT information should be shared with consumers when buying or leasing a vehicle.

I say what as top priority because isn’t it just a worldwide truth about some car salespeople and places. Most definitely not grouping them all together, but there are plenty that ensure they do things a certain way or one price, deal with a paragraph of fine print even someone with crystal clear vision couldn’t make out.

With the Government now sitting up and noticing that, you have a chance between now and May 29th to have your say here.

With that said, of course the higher ups will still sift through and take out the too much too soon information, but it is comforting to know we’ll have more of an inside scoop...right?

Billy Bob Thornton a DIVA!?

Billy Bob Thornton along with the rest of his hillbilly band The Boxmasters were recently interviewed by the very calm, very professional Jian Ghomeshi. Lets just say it was quite the diva alert with Billy Bob wanting to avoid ALL talk of his acting...the thing that made him known by ANYONE!

BBQ...SMOKER...KEG

If you’re looking into investing in some summer fun by purchasing a new BBQ or Smoker, look no further than the Huntingdon County Customs Keg Smoker/Grill. It’s pretty much what it says it is, a keg that is turned into a BBQ Smoker or Grill. Here’s the product description if you’re not already sold:

Imagine a quality smoker grill with adjustable temperature, remote digital thermometer for smoker and meat, all made from beautiful stainless steel and copper. Throw in a custom designed grill grate and what could be better? What if that grill was made from a beer keg? I guess that would be about the coolest thing!

The Keg Grill/Smoker sells for $225 and is on sale at this price, who knows for how long.

Crazy in Germany

Here’s something you should never do…jump into a polar bear enclosure at a zoo. That’s what some lady did in Berlin yesterday. She took her shoes off and jumped in for a swim…Im assuming she figured the bears and her would just have a nice playful swim, except for the bears started biting her. She finally got out and was taken to the hospital. It was nice of her to take her shoes off though!

The GOOGLE street view car in Winnipeg - actual pic

Hey Guys,

'The Show with Sarah and Jay' want to track this sucker down for Wednesday's show....here is a photo of the actual car on Bishop Grandin yesterday...(Courtesy of Chris of ChrisD.ca - Thanks!)

Let'em know where you see it on your morning drive, 780-9430 or theshow@curve943.com

They plan on doing a giant photo op with CURVE listeners in front of the building....

Make it happen people.

GOOGLE CAR!!!!!

As some of you may or may not know, Google has a feature on their maps section that allows users to see a 360 degree view of a streetscape in a selected city....

WELL it's Winnipeg's turn and a camera car is driving around the city video mapping out all the street scapes....

Jay and I couldn't let an opportunity like this pass us by so tomorrow we are going to be asking YOU to help us track down the camera car so we can have our picture taken and immortalized as part of the Winnipeg street scape FORVER (or at least 10 or so years until they revise it and come back)

So we are asking you to keep your eyes peeled for this sucker and if you or someone you know spot it in the next 24 hours..please send us an email at theshow@curve943.com so we can start tracking this baby down...

oh and as an added bonus...Jay and I are going to have our picture taken in full costume...Sarah will be in full hockey equipment and Jay has decided that he is going to dress up like Mr. Incredible

Thanks in advance

Sarah and Jay

ps.... here is a picture of what the car might look like...it's pretty hard to miss

Wanna break a world record?

An example of something even better and way more fun!

Never been much for the sticking needles in my body…growing my fingernails to 20 feet…holding breath underwater type.

Just a few examples of world records attempted and broken every year for the Guinness Book of World Records.

Drawing dots on a page, attaching binder clips to my face and spelling pantyhose while opening a can of soup though? These I could do!

These being just a few examples from the Universal Record Database. In a nutshell it is records broken or waiting to be broken by the common man or woman

The ones mentioned pretty good ones, but looking at the site myself…video or just photos of people doing things like taping most pieces of tape to their face at once, that being 35 pieces (see above).

Most Images Of 'Uncle Jesse' Viewed On A Web Browser At Once, that’s 16.

And by far the most physical Most Vertical Fist Pumps In 30 Seconds. A dude got 98! Feel tired just thinking about that one!

Gotta check it out for yourself and perhaps try some of these as this Friday evening rolls on or any other day for that matter!

Break them or not, you are guaranteed some laughs.

Average Looking Reality

If you're getting just sick and tired of the very unrealistic looking reality TV Bachlors and Bachlorettes being shoved down our throats...ABC TO THE RESCUE!

This with dating-competition series 'More To Love' that will cast so-called "average-looking" people.

Producer Mike Fleiss giving more details with the fact that this will be a "dating show for the rest of us" since they'll also allow overweight contestants to join the competition.

I’m sorry…ALLOW? Last time I checked it wasn’t illegal to have a couple extra pounds on you and really, it’s kind of disturbing if weight is in fact one of the main factors on the already existent shallow shows!

I say shallow, while very much admitting I catch them every so often, though this I would make more of an effort to actually follow...

Sure to get a lot of people talking, both positively AND negatively, and I think this type show could actually work out better, results wise! Looking back at the 80 seasons of the Bachlor and Bachlorette, I can count on one hand how many of those relationships continued on much longer than a couple months after the cameras were turned off.

Could it be the folks who fell in so called love so easily were blinded by the beauty and forgot to go a bit deeper?

Just saying.

More average looking people may be attracted to eachother, but there will be just a touch more behind it I think.
