Perez for President?!

KIDDING! Hope you didn't have a mild heart attack at the possibility.

I tease with that, though, because his latest plea to become the repleacement judge when Simon Cowell leaves American Idol is very campaign-esque:

I can’t decide if this will help his chances of being hired on or lessen his chance due to the "he’s so annoying most of us want to punch him in the face every time he speaks" factor.

Thursday's link of the day!!

Thanks to Dave from proAggressive for sharing this link...

As a certain pair of teachers discovered this week, once something hits the internet, it is officially uncontrollable. If it goes online, it now belongs to the entire planet. Scary, and with everyone having a camera, video camera and internet connection on their blackberry, it can happen anywhere, at anytime.

You'd figure that would make people, especially famous people very cautious. Not always the case. I present to you......

AS the name of the website implies, it's pictures that people have taken of famous sports figures, out for a night on the town, hammered!!! Check it out.

A Thong For DOGS?!

No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you...this is the latest to come out in the doggie clothing area from a company who called Pants for Dogs.

Since they started out with dog cumberbunds and panties it only makes sense to expand to thongs right? According to them, it does with the company saying the product will, quote, "help owners control dog urination and prevent household accidents. They are perfect for travelers who want to let their dogs run worry-free in hotel rooms or in someone else's home.”

Yes, they're also perfect if you want to get your ankle bitten in the middle of the night as pay back for making your pup wear this ridiculous thing!

To check out more pictures (which are totally worth the shock value) and maybe even purchase it for your pet, check out PANTS FOR DOG here. Don't forget to lock your bedroom door if you do choose to make a purchase though...

How Close Are We To The 'Back To The Future' Predivtions?

I'd say we're getting there!

Looking at the Back to the Future trilogy now...in specific the 2nd installment...it’s easy to roll our eyes and claim how off base the writers were with their predictions of what life would be like around THIS time!

While that would be valid in a few cases, a few others are pretty dead-on including:

If you want to check out a few more hit or miss predictions, do so RIGHT HERE. Keep in mind, though, those misses could still become reality by the predicted year of 2015! Fingers crossed for the hover board!

You remember earlier this month how people in Toronto were taking pictures of transit workers who were sleeping on the job? Was a bit of a media firestorm that erupted because of it. Well, the people in Toronto missed the point again. The transit workers should nap. As often as possible in fact. Why? Check this video of a bus crash in Taiwan. It was caused by the bus driver falling asleep at the wheel!

Dummie's Guide To The Olympics!

We all know the much anticipated 2010 Winter Olympics kick-off tonight, but there are many other details in terms of HOW to watch them!

That may sound strange, but I have a feeling I'm not in the "confused boat" all alone...so here ya go:

When is it?
February 12th - 28th

Where is it?
For US, it's CTV baby!!

Officially, it's Vancouver, Whistler and surrounding suburbs.

How many countries are involved?
Around 5500 athletes from 82 countries!

Ghana, Bahamas, Gabon and the Cayman Islands will make their Winter Olympic debut.

How many events are there?
86 gold medals are up for grabs in 15 sports.

The eight sports categorised as ice sports are: bobsleigh, luge, skeleton, ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating, short track speed skating and curling.

The four sports categorized as Nordic events are: biathlon, cross country skiing, ski jumping and nordic combined.

The three other sports are: alpine skiing, freestyle and snowboarding.

What's new?
Two new medal events have been added for the first time to the Winter Olympic Games. They are the men's and women's ski cross, which is a ski race of a group of four skiers on a special downhill course.

Who will win?
When Vancouver won the right to host the 2010 Winter Games, the Canadian government and corporate sponsors poured $110 million into 'Own the Podium', an ambitious program with the objective of putting Canada top of the Vancouver medal table.

Germany has won the most medals at each of the last three Winter Olympics while Norway has won the most medals at the Winter Games.

Russia and Austria are also strong while the US dominate in freestyle skiing and snowboarding. Korea and China have a monopoly on short track speed skating, and long track speed skating is a national obsession in the Netherlands.

Hope that helps!

We Want Betty! We Want Betty!

After 65 years in television including 7 seasons on one of the REAL sitcoms ever along with 18 Emmy nominations, six of those won and multiple other tv and movie appearances...Betty White has never hosted Saturday Night Live?!

And some folks SNL have chosen to host...well...’nuff said.

But instead of dwelling...lets help get her on as over 79,000 fans are doing on the Betty White to Host SNL Please?! Facebook group...(click here).

Stumped on what to serve at your Superbowl Party!?

Who: The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints
What: Superbowl XLIV (44)
Where: Miami, Florida...also CBS
When: Sunday at 5:25pm
Why: To crown the football kings of the NFL season

And THAT is how much I can tell you about the big game. Sure, I may not know much about football, but food?

I’m ALL OVER THAT!

In particular, what you should be serving at your Superbowl Party! According to a brand new study giving us the top 10 Superbowl Food and Beverages…it’s out with the typical beer and pizza and in with the milk and veggies!

Running down the full list, Vegetables are, in fact, number 1 followed by Potatoes, Carbonated Soft Drinks, Total Salty Snacks, Sandwiches, Salads, Chicken, Milk, Pizza (it had to show up somewhere) and finally...tea.

Most of those make sense in terms of what to serve at ANY party really and it's cool to dig on tea at just about any time, but I have a feeling if you attempt to serve tea not only over anything else (aka beer), but just in general at your party this weekend...you may be in for a lifetime of mocking whether you’re sporting that football jersey or not!

- Pamela Roz Out.

This is your ticket to transforming, if only briefly, without all the fuss and muss of make-up and outfits and, well, your buddies and/or girlfriends questioning if you need to have a little...talk.

Yo. So the Superbowl is partly about the football, and partly about the commercials. If you believe the experts (including Coach), Indy's going to do walk all over the Saints. So the game itself could be boring. The commercials, for the most part, have already leaked to the internet. Also, we mostly can't even see them in Canada. So the game's starting to look like it might be a let down. That doesn't mean that we can't take a fond look down memory lane though. For your viewing pleasure....the top 10 Superbowl ads of all time.

Happy footballing.

The 50 Worst Movies Ever

Since we just had the best and worst in films announced with the Oscar and Razzie nominations, it’s with perfect timing that someone has come out with the 50 Worst Movies Ever as chosen by Empire Magazine. Check out the full list which includes this top ten:

1. "Batman and Robin" starring George Clooney, Alicia Silverstone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman
2. "Battlefield Earth" (2000) starring John Travolta, Forest Whitaker
3. "The Love Guru" (2008) with Mike Myers
4. "Raise the Titanic" (1980) with Jason Robards, David Selby
5. "Epic Movie" (2007)
6. "Heaven's Gate" (1980)
7. "Sex Lives of the Potato Men" (2004)
8. "The Happening" (2008) with Mark Wahlberg, Zooey Deschanel
9. "Highlander 2: The Quickening" (1991)
10. "The Room" (2003)

Considering I've never even heard of most of those, it's not shocking they made the list considering that alone is a disaster at the box office.

It costs WHAT to become an Olympic athlete?!

One week tomorrow the much anticipated 2010 Winter Olympics kick off over in Vancouver. As expected the athletes have been training like crazy all the while spending more money on that then most of us can even dream of making, at least in terms of our neighbours down south!

- SPEED SKATERS train for an average of four to seven years, at an annual cost of $13,500 = $54,000 to $94,500

- People who do the LUGE train for an average of ten years, at an annual cost of $5,000 = $50,000

- FREESTYLE SKIERS train for an average of two to ten years, at an annual cost of $6,000 to $8,000 = $12,000 to $80,000

- CROSS-COUNTRY SKIERS train for an average of ten to 12 years, at an annual cost of $6,000 to $8,000 = $60,000 to $96,000

- FIGURE SKATERS train for ten or more years, at an annual cost of $10,000 = $100,000

- SNOWBOARDERS train for an average of eight to ten years, at an annual cost of $3,000 to $14,000 = $24,000 to $140,000

- HOCKEY PLAYERS train for an average of 20 years, at an annual cost of $6,000 = $120,000

- SKI JUMPERS train for an average of ten years, at an annual cost of $13,000 to $14,000 = $130,000 to $140,000 out of pocket before MAYBE making the Olympics.

- And ALPINE SKIERS train for an average of ten years, at an annual cost of $6,000 to $30,000 = $60,000 to $300,000

Take note this is all out of pocket before MAYBE making the Olympics, which makes me realize, as cool as it would be to be an Olympic star, watching...for free...from the warmth of our couches?

That’s pretty okay as well!

Oscar Nominations

The Oscar nominations came out this morning and there aren't many surprises except for the fact that instead of 5 Best Pictures to chose from, the category has now been expanded to 10 flicks! Were movies THAT GOOD this year that they could not bring it down to 5?! lol

Avatar and The Hurt Locker lead the Academy Awards with nine nominations each -- including best picture and best director for James Cameron and ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow. Both films are also among the 10 nominees in the best picture category, along with The Blind Side,Inglorious Basterds, District 9, Precious, A Serious Man, Up, Up in the Air & An Education.

Sandra Bullock, Jeff Bridges, Christoph Waltz and Mo'Nique -- who have dominated the awards season so far -- all received nominations.

The 82nd Annual Academy Awards will be presented March 7th at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin.

Who's my Doppelganger?

I can't believe this made the news, but it did!!

Facebook's next biggest craze appears to be Doppelganger Week. In order to celebrate Doppelganger Week, Facebook users switch their profile pictures to famous people they have been told they resemble. Have you participated in this? I'm not the type to participate in Facebook games like that or the whole "change your status to..." thing, BUT it made me wonder who I would pick that ressembles me and I came up with.... Nothing!!! I have absolutely NO IDEA!! haha

So, here are a couple of pictures of me...

HELP ME FIND MY DOPPELGANGER!!

I'll give a prize on Friday to whoever finds the best doppelganger for me!

Grammys in a nut shell!

Some of the biggest names in music came out last night (Sunday, Jan31) for the 52nd annual Grammy Awards. The ladies ruled the evening -- with Beyonce and Taylor Swift both taking home top honors!

Beyonce led the pack with 10 nods & ended up making history for the most wins by a female artist in a single Grammy night by scoring six trophies (incl. song of the year for "Single Ladies"). Swift entered with eight nominations and left with four, including one of the event's most prestigious awards -- album of the year! Not sure I understand that win, but hey...

Other big winners: Kings of Leon scored record of the year for "Use Somebody." The Black Eyed Peas won three awards, including best pop vocal album for The E.N.D., and Jay-Z took home three --one for best rap solo performance and two awards for "Run This Town" with Rihanna and Kanye West (who was a no show).

MY TOP 3 MOMENTS:

1) Lady Gaga & Elton John's duet:

2) Pink should be part of Cirque du Soleil:

3) Green Day scored big singing with the cast of their Broadway version of American Idiot (and with a Grammy for Best Rock Album):

Finally, special mention goes to the duet of Mary J Blige and Andrea Bocelli -- a song that can be downloaded for Haiti relief and just poured chills down my spine:

There you go! Grammy Awards 2010 in a nut shell!

This video isn't really as much funny, as nostalgic. It's Pee Wee herman, back in Pee Wee's playhouse showing off his new iPad. All of my favourites are in it! Chairey, Globie, Terrie. No Jambi though, although he kinda freaked me out a bit back in the day, what with him being a disembodied genie head in a box and all. Any way, if you loved/were slightly frightened of Pee Wee's playhouse as a child, check it out.

Pee Wee hasn't aged a bit fyi
