There's not much you can count on, but surely, you can count on the fact that the ground beneath your feet is stable, and not likely to open up into a cavernous sinkhole, which will swallow the very building you're in.
Right?
That right there is a sinkhole that opened up this past weekend, and is also reason number 1 that I will never live in Guatemala. A tropical storm hit, and bam, one less building for the paper boy to visit. So the next time you complain about potholes, be grateful that we don't grow 'em that big here in Winnipeg!
